This is 48s' highest form of Genjutsu, when him and his opponents lock eyes even once, he uses his Sharingan to cast a Genjutsu that alters the perception of the person whose under his genjutsus' influence. He can make any or all actions seem like either a blur or even so slow that it doesn't seem to move at all. The Genjutsu lasts as long as 48 keeps his eyes open: Meaning blinking will break the Genjutsu. Defeating the Genjutsu by means of Aggitating ones chakra won't work, to beat this Genjutsu one will have to put themselves under a genjutsu that stops them from seeing things how 48 allows them to see it. In addition, when he slows down time with his Sharingan, the movements of his opponent seem very slow to his opponent influenced by this technique and they move as slow as 48 forces them to perceive their movements. It is as straining as the Amateratsu and forces 48s' eyes to progress further towards the darkness. Keeping them open for more than 2 posts is close to impossible, doing so will result in 48s' sharingan reverting back to 3 tomoe. (Oh did I mention he must have his mangekyo active to use this Genjutsu?)

Amaterasu is the highest level Fire Release technique, and according to Zetsu one of the most powerful ninjutsu in existence. It is said to represent the "Material World and Light" (物質界と光, Busshitsukai to Hikari), the antipode to Tsukuyomi, a genjutsu of similar power and a fellow Mangekyō Sharingan dōjutsu.

The jet-black flames of the Amaterasu, said to be the fires from hell that are as hot as the sun, ignite at the focus of the user's vision. They're unavoidable as long as the user keeps their eyes focused on their target. The flames are capable of burning through anything in their path, even smothering regular fire techniques with ease. Amaterasu is said to burn for seven days and seven nights, and cannot be extinguished with water or any other normal methods. However, the flames burn fairly slowly, allowing anyone struck by Amaterasu an opportunity to remove whatever clothing or body parts have been caught ablaze. Use of the technique also puts a great deal of strain on the user, usually causing their eyes to bleed.
